Energy Rated Windows

Recent Government legislation has been implemented to improve the standard of products offered to the general public by window fabricators. Windows and doors are no longer elements used to simply fill the gaps in the bricks and mortar. They are expected to fullfill specific requirements. One of these requirements is Energy efficiency.

These developments in the double glazing industry now mean double glazed windows can be rated the same way as white good (as fridges are currently). This simple scheme controlled by the BFRC (British Fenestration Rating Council) allows windows that have been put through a rigorous testing process, to display a rating from A to G (An 'A' rating being the highest certification).

There are two major reasons why you should choose windows that carry an ‘A’ rating when you improve your home;

Jones Window Systems use RCM (Recycled Composite Material) within its window frames. This is supplied as a thermal improvement to either steel or aluminium sections, RCM is an eco-friendly alternative offering superb benefits where the anchorage of hardware is required in windows, casement window sashes and door outer frame.

The method of fixing RCM is simple and is done in the conventional way that metallic reinforcements are fixed. It can be easily welded and can provide 20% - 30% higher weld strength than using traditional reinforcement materials. RCM boasts excellent screw retention, with a screw pull out value greater than steel.
