We are specialists in Hardwood. We design all our Orangeries and incorporate your ideas, with our skills and knowledge.
Orangeries have their origins in the 17th C Renaissance period and were traditionally glass houses used for growing citrus fruit trees. Nowadays they can be adapted for a variety of functions, from a kitchen extension to a pleasing place to relax.
These purpose-built rooms are superb in both appearance and creating an exquisite atmosphere. An orangery has a more solid base than a conservatory where the brick and flint parapet walls give the impression of height. This is characterised by the addition of a lantern roof, to give a distinctive shape and allow the light to flood in.
Our joinery department can expertly produce authentic arched frames whilst a wider profile will accommodate double glazing .
The orangery illustrated here is a traditional style, arched frames, doors with parapet flint/brick walls and lantern roof.
Design and Planning
We can give you free advice, whether it’s an idea you may have, a design you have seen, or would just like a chat to see what we have to offer (under no obligation).
If you require planning permission, we can take away your worries and oversee the planning approval process for a nominal fee. Our surveyor will make a detailed site visit, draw up plans and submit them on your behalf.
We specialise in hardwood – we are adaptable and can build anything you have in mind. We pride ourselves on the quality of our architectural plans, and are happy to supply artistic sketch drawings.
